The Heart of Val Rendena
Pinzolo, at 770 metres above sea level, is the main centre of Val Rendena and represents the ideal starting point for exploring the entire valley. Set at the foot of the Dolomiti di Brenta, the town combines the lively atmosphere of a modern mountain village with the charm of Trentino tradition.
What makes it unique
Pinzolo is famous for the Church of San Vigilio, on whose outer facade stands the magnificent fresco of the Danza Macabra (Dance of Death), painted by Simone Baschenis in 1539, a masterpiece of Alpine Renaissance art. The town is also the gateway to the spectacular Val Genova, known as the "Valley of Waterfalls", with the imposing Cascate del Nardis among the highest in Trentino.
Activities and experiences
In winter, Pinzolo offers its own ski area connected to Madonna di Campiglio by gondola. In summer: hikes in Val Genova, trekking to the Adamello mountain huts, mountain biking, sport fishing and walks along the River Sarca. The weekly market and numerous traditional restaurants complete the offering.
Useful information
Pinzolo is about 15 minutes from Madonna di Campiglio and 30 minutes from Tione di Trento. It has all essential services including shops, pharmacy, banks and sports facilities.
