San Vigilio, the Evangelizer of the Trentino Valleys

The Parish Church of San Vigilio in Comano Terme is dedicated to the patron saint of Trentino, Bishop Saint Vigilius, who in the 4th century brought Christianity to the Alpine valleys, suffering martyrdom in the nearby Val Rendena. The dedication to Saint Vigilius gives this church particularly deep significance, as it was in these very valleys that the saint carried out his evangelising mission.
