Barnabas and Paul, the Apostles to the Nations in Tione

The Church of Saints Barnabas and Paul in Tione di Trento is dedicated to two great figures of Christian evangelisation: the apostle Paul and his mission companion Barnabas. This dedication speaks to the community's missionary aspiration, ideally connecting to Saint Vigilius's evangelisation of the Trentino valleys in the 4th century.

The church, with its Trentino-Lombard architecture, enriches the sacred heritage of Tione, capital of the Giudicarie. The territory preserves an exceptional concentration of religious buildings, many decorated with frescoes from the Baschenis tradition, itinerant Bergamo painters who left their artistic mark on the Trentino valleys.
